TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A woman is being treated for an injury after her 2-year-old son shot her in the arm, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

The incident happened Monday morning, Oct. 17, at a home near Valencia and Camino Verde. The PCSD said the firearm was left unattended.

The gun discharged when the woman saw the child had the weapon and tried to get it from him.

The woman's injuries are said to be non-life-threatening.
