"Mrs. Green" honored by the UA Alumni Association

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - "Mrs. Green" a.k.a. Gina Murphy-Darling was recently given the Professional Achievement Award for 2016 by the University of Arizona Alumni Association.  An award that honors "distinguished individuals for outstanding achievement and contributions to their profession, their communities and the University of Arizona."

Murphy-Darling is the current community representative for the UA's Presidents Advisory Council on Environmental Sustainability, she is also a 1979 UA graduate with a degree in behavioral science.  She founded (and is the voice of) the Mrs. Green's World Network in 2008.

Mrs. Green's World is an internet based podcast series that "is on a mission to raise global consciousness about the impact of people on the planet," according to Murphy-Darling.  She interviews leading experts and high-profile advocates of sustainable living, creating a "free and independent platform - allowing all voices to be heard as part of her passionate commitment to help create a more socially just and sustainable planet."

"I don't tell you what to think," said Mrs. Green. "I just want you to."

Mrs. Green is also a sought after speaker that travels extensively, participating in events like Mrs. Obama's Kids' State Dinner at the White House, Sustainable Foods Institute at Monterey Bay Aquarium and the International Women's Earth and Climate Summit in New York.
