Museum receives grant to help refugees

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Museum of Art is using art to help local refugees.

Thanks to a $92,500 grant the museum is planning to help out more refugees in Tucson.

The plan is to use that money to help refugees affected by traumatic dislocation. This will include community forms, programmatic activities and community exhibitions.

The museum is already working with refugees in Tucson.

30 people have been coming to the education center at the museum, ranging in age from 8 years old to adults.

They work on projects and it allows the refugees to get extra one on one time. Plus, they get to express themselves through the arts.
