SOUTHERN, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The high school football playoffs continued this week with seven games involving teams from southern Arizona.

Schools in Divisions 5A and 4A were set to play their quarterfinal games Thursday while divisions 3A and 2A will scheduled to face off on Saturday. The championship game for Division 1A, 8-man football, is also set for Saturday.

Thursday's Games

DIVISION 5A

Cienega 63, Mesquite 38

Top-seeded Cienega cruised to an easy win in a quarterfinal match.

With their rout of Mesquite, the Bobcats (12-0) have scored 40 points or more in every game this season.

Cienega will host No. 5 Centennial (11-1), which beat Desert Edge 21-6, in a semifinal game at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18.

Queen Creek 42, Ironwood Ridge 26

Ironwood Ridge's playoff run ended with a loss to Queen Creek.

Queen Creek (10-2) advanced to the semifinal round and will travel to play No. 2 seed Williams Field (12-0), which routed Marana Thursday night.

Williams Field beat Queen Creek 16-9 in the regular-season finale on Oct. 28.

Williams Field 41, Marana 14

Marana's amazing run ended Thursday night with a loss to second-seeded Williams Field.

The Tigers (9-3) had won nine straight games after opening their season with back-to-back losses.

The Black Hawks (12-0) have outscored their opponents 456-128.

DIVISION 4A

Salpointe Catholic 49, Marcos de Niza 6

Fourth-seeded Salpointe Catholic (10-2) made it look easy and crushed No. 5 Marcos de Niza in their quarterfinal matchup.

Salpointe advanced to the semifinals and will face defending state champion Saguaro (12-0) at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, in Scottsdale.

The Sabrecats, who beat Peoria 61-6 Thursday, have won every game by at least two touchdowns.

Saguaro, ranked No. 15 nationally by MaxPreps.com, has one the best offenses and defenses in the state. The Sabrecats have outscored their opponents 517-116.

Catalina Foothills 52, Sunrise Mountain 49

For the second straight week, Rhett Rod rallied his Falcons to a playoff win.

The sixth-seeded Falcons (10-2) will travel to Gilbert to play No. 2 Higley (11-1) in a semifinal game on Friday, Nov. 18. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Higley and Catalina have at least one common opponent this season -- top-seeded Saguaro. The Falcons lost to Saguaro 35-0 on Sept. 2 while the Knights lost 49-15 on Sept. 9.

The Higley Knights, who beat the Cactus Cobras Thursday night to advance, have scored 49 points or more nine times this season.

Saturday's Games

DIVISION 3A

Sabino 48, Winslow 0

Sabino rolled to an easy win over Winslow Saturday night in the quarterfinals.

The Sabrecats (11-1) scored 40 points or more for the ninth time this season and shut out an opponent for the fourth time.

Fifth-seeded Sabino will play No. 1 Show Low (12-0) at a neutral site in the semifinal round. The game is set to kickoff at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Williams Field High in Gilbert.

Show Low survived a scare from No. 8 Yuma with a 28-26 win in their quarterfinal matchup.

Sabino's lone loss of the season came Sept. 9 on the road when the Sabercats lost 10-7 to Mission Hills (California).

Sabino and Show Low have a common opponent -- Winslow. The Cougars beat Winslow 21-6 on Oct. 28.

DIVISION 2A

Benson 35, Pima 20

Benson pulled off the upset on the road against Pima Saturday night in their quarterfinal matchup.

The Bobcats (10-2) will now play top-seeded Round Valley (12-0) in a semifinal game. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Fountain Hills High.

The Elks advanced with a 45-0 rout of Paradise Honors.

Benson and Round Valley share a common opponent -- Pima. Round Valley edged Pima 31-28 earlier this season.

Benson's losses this season have come to the other two teams left standing in the 2A playoffs -- No. 2 Santa Cruz Valley and No. 3 Thatcher.
