TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A motorcyclist is in the hospital Thursday night, following a crash on Interstate 10.

It happened in the westbound lanes between Grant and Miracle Mile, just after 8:30 p.m.

Paramedics with Tucson Fire loaded the motorcycle rider into a waiting ambulance.  The crash did not force the closure of the road, but it did slow down traffic for a short time.

Tucson News Now is waiting to hear more from the Arizona Department of Public Safety on the status of the motorcycle rider.

The four-mile stretch from mile marker 209 to 213 will be extended to three lanes in each direction, creating more room on the freeway for drivers like Lisa McCombs. “That would be fantastic, she said. “Traffic gets pretty bad through here especially on the weekends.”
