University High School students pay tribute to eight veterans

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Several University High School students got the chance to sit down one-on-one with veterans Tuesday, Nov. 15. 

Eight veterans who served in World War II and the Korean War shared their stories of service as part of the "Veterans Heritage Project."

This is the second year the school has participated in this program.

This year, students focused on women who fought for the country. 

Students will have their project displayed in the U.S. Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.

    A motorcyclist was seriously hurt Sunday night in a crash on Tucson's east side, according to Tucson Police Department. Sgt. Pete Dugan, a department spokesman, said the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash near E Golf Links road and S Wilmot Road.
