TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Have your kids always wanted to experience an Explorer Camp at Saguaro National Park? This December might just be their chance with an Explorer Camp scheduled for the Tucson Mountain District (SNP west).
According to a release from SNP (west) a one-day camp will be offered on Saturday, Dec. 10 for kids 9 to 10 years old. The camp will run from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Explorers will have a chance to experience the wilds of the park and the wonders of nature, with guidance from experienced and enthusiastic staff. Campers will set up a base camp for relaxing and cooking up hot chocolate and soup. They will also have a chance to wander through hidden washes, searching for animals and their signs, all while learning to explore the outdoors safely.
Camp will end with an informal celebration and ceremony, parents are encouraged to wait at the family campfire, where hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows will be served at 8 p.m.

There is a $15 camp fee per child. Space is limited and reservations are required. Scholarships may be available. All fees and registration paperwork must be received by Friday, Dec. 2 to ensure participation in the camp. Applications received after that time will be put on a waiting list.
