Nighthawks state champ to return for Arizona Bowl

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Ironwood Ridge 2013 graduate Tyler Williams will get to return home to play in the Arizona Bowl on December 30.

Williams, a wide receiver for the Air Force Academy, helped contribute to the Falcons 9-3 season. The junior had 70 receiving yards, 228 rushing yards and 5 rushing touchdowns this year. He played in all 12 games for the Falcons in the 2016 season. 

Williams was the quarterback of the Nighthawks 2012 state championship team. 

Air Force Academy will play the University of South Alabama Jaguars, who went 6-6 this season. 

The NOVA Home Loans Arizona bowl will be played at Arizona Stadium, kicking off at 3:30pm.
