TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Tucson Electric Power is urging customers to report any outage, no matter how small, after multiple large outages across the city.
Spokesman Joe Barrios said reporting an outage is the best way to fix the problem.
He said TEP does have people monitoring the grid 24/7, but any additional information they can get from the public helps them restore power as quickly as possible.
TEP services 420,000 people, and Barrios said unfortunately outages do occur.
He said most recently, there was some underground equipment failure that caused 2,000 in Oro Valley to wake up without power.
This can be a serious problem, as temperatures can drop to freezing or near freezing in December.
Barrios said if anyone loses power, or even if their lights flicker, give them a call at (520) 623-7711.
