TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Pueblo junior guard Alicia Reyes scored the 1,000th points of her high school basketball career Thursday night as the Warriors beat visiting Sahuaro 61-37.

Reyes, who last season broke the state-record making 17 three-pointers in a win over Cholla, is off a hot start to this season averaging 19 points a game for Pubelo (7-1) and shooting 42% from behind the three-point line.

Elena Arriaga led the Cougars (5-3) with 20 points.

The Warriors last season advanced to the Division III state quarterfinals. This year Pueblo is playing in Conference 4A.
