TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Arizona Wildcats 2015 wing Stanley Johnson spent the night in the NBA D-League on Saturday.
Johnson, however was back in the Detroit lineup on Sunday, as the Pistons fell at home to the Philadelphia 76ers 97-79.
Detroit assigned Johnson to the team's D-League affiliate in Grand Rapids for their game Saturday against Delaware.
Johnson responded by scoring 26 points.
He finished with a season-high four assists and five steals Sunday night in the loss to Philadelphia, a game in which his Wildcats teammate T.J. McConnell ('15) fell just one assist shy of a triple-double, posting a line of 12 points, a career-high ten rebounds and nine assists.
Johnson, a first-round draft pick in 2015, has averaged only 3.3 points in 21 games this season.
His minutes are down and after he didn't play in a loss this past Wednesday in Charlotte, head coach Stan Van Gundy intimated that Johnson needed to improve his work ethic.
