MARANA, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

This is the second year that Natalie Glasshoff, a 5th grader at Rattlesnake Ridge Elementary, became the school's Spelling Bee champion, according to a Marana Unified School District release.

Natalie correctly spelled the final word "partridge" after respelling the word "pauper", which was spelled incorrectly by her opponent.

Second place went to 5th grader Kael Olsen, while third place and alternate went to Nathan Leyva.

The Marana District Spelling Bee will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017 in the auditorium at Marana High School (12000 West Emigh Road, Tucson 85743).
