TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Arizona Board of Regents has selected its finalist for the job of President of the University of Arizona.

The regents announced Dr. Robert Clayton Robbins as their choice during a news conference Tuesday afternoon, March 7.

Robbins, M.D., is the president and chief executive officer of Texas Medical Center.

Robbins will visit the UA campus Wednesday, March 8 for a public forum. The event will be held from 4:15-5:30 p.m. at the UA ENR2 Building Auditorium, 1064 E. Lowell St.

On Monday, March 13, ABOR is expected to finalize the selection and begin contract negotiations. The board will then vote on the contract April 6, and formally announce UA's new president.
