Woman arrested for attack on bus driver, spitting on police officer

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A woman has been accused of assaulting a Sun Tran driver and spitting on a Tucson police officer Wednesday morning, March 8, police said.

The call came in just after 9 a.m. from the Ronstadt Transit Center in downtown Tucson.

The attacker hit the bus driver in the face, causing minor injuries.

When police arrived on scene to arrest the suspect, she spit on an officer. Police say she will face additional charges for spitting on the officer.

Tucson police Sgt. Kim Bay said they don't have the suspect's identification yet, because she refused to cooperate. She's being processed at the Pima County Jail.
