Driver cited for hit-and-run crash involving cyclists in Marana

MARANA, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Two people on bicycles were hit by a car Saturday morning in Marana, according to Northwest Fire District.

The crash happened on the Interstate 10 frontage road between Tangerine Road and Marana Road, according to a release from NWFD.

A group of three cyclists were together. The two who were hit were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The third refused medical attention, according to the release.

The driver of the car that hit these cyclists was cited and released for a hit-and-run charge, according to Marana Police Department. Lt. Tim Brunenkant said Sunday that the driver didn't pull over and immediately to help. She called 911 from a gas station further down the road, according to Brunenkant.
