UPDATE - Male suspect in midtown shooting found dead

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

According to Sgt. Kim Bay, spokeswoman with the Tucson Police Department, the suspect has been found dead inside a shed on the property, with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot sound.  No other suspects are outstanding.  

TPD Investigators will remain on scene for several more hours, according to Sgt. Bay. 

The shooting happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. in the 2600 block of North Edith and Flower Street. 

A TPD Lieutenant on scene told Tucson News Now that a man shot a woman and he has barricaded himself in a home in the midtown neighborhood. 

According to Sgt. Bay the victim is in the hospital in stable condition, and believes that the victim and the suspect know one another. 

Nearby houses were evacuated as a precaution  as the TPD SWAT team and Bomb Squad have been also on scene.
