Roadrunners lose for 20th time in 24 games

SAN ANTONIO, TX -

The San Antonio Rampage built a 3-0 lead through two periods and defeated the Tucson Roadrunners by a 4-2 count on Tuesday night.

Trailing by three goals entering the third period, Chris Mueller would score his 13th goal of the year on the power play from Kyle Wood and Jamie McBain to make it 3-0 at 8:06.

Rocco Grimaldi would respond with a power play goal for the Rampage just over five minutes later to make it 4-1.

Michael Bunting finished off the scoring for the Roadrunners with his 11th of the year at 19:35.     

Tucson will now take on Texas Stars Wednesday before returning home Saturday night against the San Jose Barracuda for #CunnyCan night presented by SAACA.

  • McBain’s assist on Mueller’s power play goal was his 23rd of the season, placing him second among all AHL players in that category.
  • Grimaldi’s goal moved him into a tie for second place in the AHL with 26.
  • Mueller has four points in his last two games (1-3-4)
  • Tucson finished the game 1-for-3 on the power play while San Antonio was 1-for-4.
