The 6th ranked Wildcats suffered their second-straight walk-off loss Saturday afternoon at Goss Stadium when #2 Oregon State plated the winning run on a wild pitch in the ninth inning to win 5-4 in front of a sold-out crowd of 3,190.
The Wildcats had tied the game in the top of ninth on a pinch-hit home run by Cory Voss.
Cody Deason (1-1) struck out six in two innings of work out of the bullpen but suffered the loss for Arizona (16-6, 2-3).
UA got a solid start on the mound Randy Labaut. The freshman, making his first career start at Arizona, went five innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, while striking out three.
Nick Quintana hit his third home run of the season for the Wildcats.
Arizona for the third straight conference game could not hold a two-run lead in the second half of the contest.
The Beavers scored three in the sixth to grab the lead. Zak Taylor drove in the go-ahead runs with a double.
Arizona will look to salvage a game in the series Sunday at 11 a.m.
