BB: Beavers remove drama in completing sweep of #6 Cats

CORVALLIS, OR - The #6 ranked Arizona Wildcats dropped the final game of a three-game series at Oregon State on Sunday, falling to the Beavers 11-5 in the finale.

After falling in a pair of one-run games on Friday and Sunday, 2nd ranked Oregon State (20-1, 6-0) finished off the sweep in cold and rainy conditions at Goss Stadium in front of 2,981 fans.

Rio Gomez (2-3) took the loss for the Wildcats. He allowed five runs on six hits in three and two-thirds innings.

Alfonso Rivas finished 3-for-5 with four RBI in the loss.

The Wildcats (16-7, 2-4) now returns home for a four-game homestand, which opens Wednesday against Grand Canyon.

UA will then host USC for a three-game series starting Friday for their first home conference series of the season.
