Tucson couple escape house fire unharmed

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A Tucson couple were displaced by a house fire on Tuesday night, March 28.

According to a news release from the Tucson Fire Department, the fire happened at about 10:20 p.m. in a home in the 1400 block of West Ontario Street, near West Speedway Boulevard and North Grande Avenue.

A 47-year-old man discovered the fire when he went outside to investigate why the TV he had been watching stopped working. He alerted his girlfriend and they escaped unharmed.

Fire investigators say the fire originated in the laundry area of the home. The cause of the fire and the damage estimate have yet to be determined.

No firefighters were injured.
