TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

What's worse than getting run over by a deer? No one believing you.

That's the situation Cary McCook found himself earlier this month.

According to CBS News, McCook was getting dropped off in front of his hotel room in Smithers, British Columbia, when a deer knocked him down.

McCook, a 25-year-old rapper from Canada, told his friends and family what happened but no one was buying it.

It didn't help it was April Fools' Day.

“I hear three gallops, I looked up and just then I see a deer fully committed," McCook told CBS News. "I was shocked, jumped back up and went to the truck. I was like, ‘Was that a deer?’”

McCook said he had to get a copy of the hotel's security cameras before anyone would believe him.
