Recycling plant near international border on fire

NOGALES, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

There is a large fire at a recycling plant on the Mexico side of the border, according to the Santa Cruz County Director of Emergency Management Ray Sayre.  

Residents on both sides of the border are seeing the large plume of black smoke.  According to officials there is no threat to anyone on the Arizona side of the border.

Nogales police say they are keeping an eye on it for the moment, as are Border Patrol agents.  

Crews are on standby in case the fire spreads.
