TUCSON, AZ - Here's a wrap up of what happened on Friday from the Wildcats Olympic sports scene:
Arizona fell to 6th-ranked USC 4-0 in Los Angeles.
The loss was the Wildcats (9-14, 0-5) 14th straight to the Trojans.
UA will look to rebound from this loss and secure their first conference victory on Sunday, April 16 at 12:00 p.m. against seventh-ranked UCLA. The Bruins are riding a seven-match win streak after a victory Friday over Utah.
Arizona went up against No. 22 UCLA and dropped a 4-1 match at the Robson Tennis Center.
The Wildcats (11-10, 2-6) did not win the doubles point despite a victory from top seeds Lauren Marker and Paris Corley 6-4 over the Bruins (13-5, 7-1 Pac-12) No. 24 Jada Hart/Terri Fleming.
UA's lone point was tallied in singles by Maggie Cohen as she secured a a 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 win over Kristin Wiley.
In the final home match of the year, the Wildcats will take on USC on Saturday, Apr. 15 at noon MST. It is also Senior Day. The Wildcats will honor Lauren Marker and Samantha Czarniak.
Arizona's track and field team competed in Walnut, Calif. Friday at the Mt. Sac Relays.
Claire Green led Arizona as she ran a personal-best time of 4:21.02 in the 1,500-meter race for 13th overall. That time was the seventh-best in UA history.
Carlos Villarreal took 19th in the 1,500-meter race with a time of 3:59.56.
The Cats are back in action Saturday for both the Mt. Sac Relays and the TCU Big 5 Classic.
