TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

So what exactly happened to 2nd ranked Arizona Softball this past weekend in Salt Lake City?

The obvious is the Wildcats lost a pair of games to a very good Utah Utes squad.

Utah came in ranked 14th in the nation and could very well see themselves in the Top 10 after ending UA’s 26-game winning streak.

The keys to the Cats success so far this season have been two-fold, they’ve hit and they’ve pitched.

Utah this week beat them at their own game.

Is this just a hiccup in a long season; a temporary setback on a Pac-12 road trip to a chilly outpost where the temperature probably never reached above 60 degrees?

I’m inclined to believe the latter.

But we will find out for sure when the Cats return home for a potential Pac-12 deciding series this weekend against the Oregon Ducks.

After breaking down the tape I saw two things that stood out to me about how Utah shutdown Mike Candrea and company.
