TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Fire crews from two agencies were called to a reported fire near I-10 and Camino del Cerro on Tucson's northwest side on Wednesday, April 19.

The fire, originally reported as a brush fire at about 2:30 p.m., began as a result of a spark from welding. The fire spread to tires and other scrap material at Farwest Pump Company a well drilling business at 3230 W. El Camino Del Cerro, where the welding work was being done.

No injuries were reported and the fire, which was contained to the property, did not involve any buildings.

Crews from Northwest Fire District and Tucson Fire Department were at the scene because it is near the city boundary.

Drivers on I-10 were warned of encountering visibility-limiting smoke.
