An MMA fighter from New Mexico has been arrested on abuse charges after a 3-year-old girl was found unresponsive in a home on Tucson's south side.

According to several websites, Cuhen is an MMA fighter out of New Mexico. His bond was set at $350,000.

Dugan said the child was in critical condition as of Thursday night, April 27. The child's family said she is on life support.

The incident began Wednesday night when the child's mother left the 3-year-old and a 6-month-old at home with Cuhen.

When the mother returned, the 3-year-old was unresponsive.

The girl's mother called 911 as she was driving the child to a nearby hospital. She pulled over at Cherrybell and 22nd Street and waited for the police and fire department to respond.

An ambulance took the girl from there to a hospital.

Doctors said the toddler had injuries consistent with abuse and a search warrant was issued.

By the time authorities got to the home, Cuhen has already left for Deming, New Mexico, where he has family.

Captain Martinez with the Luna County Sheriff’s Office said TPD called around 1 a.m. Thursday asking for help to locate Cuhen.

Martinez said deputies found Cuhen at a home in the county and brought him in for questioning.

There was an issue with the warrant and Cuhen was release and he then drove to Tucson to turn himself in the the TPD.
