(RNN) - The only Pittsburgh Steeler who put his hand over his heart for the national anthem Sunday has the top-selling jersey, beating out even five-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady.

Offensive tackle and former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva stood outside the tunnel alone during the national anthem before the game against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. The rest of the team remained in the locker room.

Villanueva's jersey was listed as the top-selling jersey at NFLshop.com as of mid-Monday.

President Trump denounced those who protested by kneeling during the national anthem during a rally in Huntsville, AL, on Friday. Calling NFL players an expletive, he urged NFL team owners to fire those who kneeled during the national anthem.

Trump echoed his remarks in several tweets

Several players on Sunday began kneeling or standing with locked arms in solidarity after Trump's comments, with several owners taking issues with the president's comments, calling them divisive.

While some supported players exercising their First Amendment rights, others took issue with it, vowing to boycott the NFL. Some Saints fans even burned their jerseys in protest, according to WAFB.

Colin Kaepernick began sitting or taking the knee for the national anthem during the 2016 preseason amid protests that took issue with police violence against people of color.
