TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A bill introduced earlier this month would let motorcyclists use the lanes between traffic to pass vehicles in Arizona.

According to the legislation from Senator David Farnsworth, R-Mesa, motorcyclists would be allowed to "overtake and pass" vehicles ahead of them by driving "between the lanes of traffic of adjacent rows of vehicles."

If passed, the Department of Transportation, Governor's Office of Highway Safety and a motorcycle organization would be tasked with helping develop additional guidelines.
