Tucson community leaders pledge to help Tu Nidito

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A Tucson nonprofit that provides support for children and families who are affected by serious illness and death is getting some help of its own.

An all-day fund-raising effort has been scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Mr. An's Teppan Steak, Sushi, and Seafood at 6091 N. Oracle Road.

Business leaders Humberto and Czarina Lopez, and Sam and Valerie Levitz hope to help raise up to $40,000 for Tu Nidito. Each couple has pledged to match up to $10,000 of donations collected during the event.

You can donate any time from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Mr. An's Teppan Steak, Sushi, and Seafood.

All cash donations, $400 for individuals and $800 for couples who file jointly, qualify as a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit.

Donations will go directly toward supporting Tu Nidito's programs that serve more than 800 children each year.

More information can be found on Tu Nidito's website.
