TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A bicyclist died after being struck by a vehicle on West River Road on Wednesday, Jan. 31.

According to the Pima County Sheriff's Department, the victim was a man. No other identification was released pending notification of kin.

The driver of the vehicle involved stayed on scene and did not suffer any serious injuries, according to officials. 

After striking the bicyclist, the truck spun and came to a stop facing the opposite way it had been driving, officials said. 

The crash closed eastbound lanes of River Road at North Shannon Road. The road was reopened shortly after noon.

No further information was immediately available.
