TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Brad Bradley has been selected by the Northwest Fire District (NWFD) Governing Board to succeed retiring Fire Chief Michael J. Brandt. This will be effective July 1, 2018, pending approval of Bradley's final contract at a subsequent board meeting.
The announcement, made at a regularly scheduled board meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 27, signifies the start of the transition process to coincide with the planned retirement of Chief Brandt on June 30, 2018.
Currently, Brad Bradley serves as the Assistant Fire Chief of Operational Services for NWFD, overseeing the daily operations and mission readiness of 210 responders and 34 apparatus. He is a 23-year veteran of emergency services and has been with the Northwest Fire District since 1999. During his tenure, Bradley rose through the ranks as a Captain, Battalion Chief, Division Chief, and Assistant Fire Chief before being named successor to the Fire Chief.
