TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The man accused of killing his sister's boyfriend in Tucson earlier this year is back in Pima County and facing a first-degree murder charge.

According to records from the Pima County Jail, Vincent Antonio Detwiler is being held on a $1 million bond.

Authorities said the 21-year-old Detwiler shot Mark Garity in the head while they were in a vehicle with a third person. The shooting happened Feb. 27 and the 29-year-old Garity was found on East Monte Vista Drive, which is near Fort Lowell and Club Road.

The Tucson Police Department said Detwiler and his friend took off for California after the shooting. Detwiler was arrested by the San Bernardino Police Department on Feb. 28.

"Detectives traveled to San Bernardino and searched the vehicle Detwiler had been using," the TPD said in a news release. "After searching the vehicle and collecting evidence, (the detectives) determined the shooting had taken place inside the vehicle."

Detwiler's friend has been identified but not arrested, according to the TPD.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 88-CRIME.
