9th ranked Arizona Softball won a three-game road series at Texas this weekend thanks to a pair of victories for red-hot pitcher Taylor McQuillin.
McQuillin (11-1) picked up wins on Friday and Sunday pitching 13 scoreless innings while allowing just four hits and striking out 16.
Aleah Craighton drove in both runs in the Friday victory while Malia Martinez went 4-for-4 with five RBI and her first career home run on Sunday.
The Cats saw their 13-game winning streak snapped on Saturday with a 3-1 loss.
UA will host the Wildcat Invitational this weekend at Hillenbrand Stadium.
Meanwhile Arizona Baseball fell in all three of their games at the Big-10/Pac-12 Challenge in Minneapolis.
The Wildcats (5-6) lost all three contests by one-run and five of their six losses this season have been by a single tally.
Sunday’s defeat to Michigan State was the most devastating as UA blew a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 9th.
The Cats hit just .188 for the weekend while starting pitchers Cody Deason, Avery Weems and Randy Labaut combined for 1.96 ERA.
Arizona will host San Diego State on Tuesday before welcoming North Dakota State to Hi Corbett Field for the weekend.
