SAHUARITA, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Sahuarita Police Department responded to an animal attack call at 9:40 a.m. Monday, March 5 in the 14000 block of Camino El Foso.
Before police and the animal control officer arrived at the scene it was reported that two large Siberian Husky breed dogs had jumped into several backyards, attacking and killing two smaller dogs and a cat, according to a SPD news release. A third dog was also attacked and injured.
Sahuarita's Animal Control Officer, with help from SPD officers found the suspect dogs and took them into custody. The owner of the two dogs, Demetrius Kavathas, has been cited for two counts each of prohibited acts for the bite, vaccinations required, license required and dogs at large.
The two dogs have been taken to the Humane Society.
