MARANA, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A popular place to cool down during the hot summer months is no more.
Breaker's Water Park in Marana is closing down.
They will not be opening up this season. According to information confirmed by a source from the Town of Marana, who cited the rise of the minimum wage played a factor in the decision.
The park's phone number has already been disconnected and on its webpage the hours of operations, it shows it as being closed for all of 2018.
"I was told by the owner he had to close. He said minimum wage was taking all his profit," stated Marana Mayor Ed Honea.
