New shuttle operator announced for Sabino Canyon

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Regional Partnering Center has been announced as the new Sabino Canyon shuttle operator, according to a news release from the U.S. Forest Service, Coronado National Forest.

The company has the new permit for operation and maintenance of the shuttle for the popular recreation area in the Santa Catalina Mountains.

Applications for operation were requested back in Nov. 2017 and were evaluated by a panel of employees from the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service that have extensive experience evaluating applications and administering land use authorizations for transportation systems.

According to the news release the written evaluation was sent to CNF Supervisor Kerwin Dewberry, who used it to decide on the new shuttle operator.
