Man arrested in Marana after five AK-47s found in car

Arizona authorities have arrested a 24-year-old man from Nevada who was found with five AK-47s in his rental car.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper reported discovering the assault rifles after stopping a sedan for a traffic violation on Interstate 10 near Marana.
A release from Customs and Border Protection stated the arrest happened Wednesday, March 7. The trooper was part of Operation Stonegarden.
The trooper was participating in a Department of Homeland Security program that grants funds to other law enforcement agencies to enhance and strengthen border security.
The man has not been identified.
