Program seeks to inspire next generation of women in science, engineering

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A local program seeks to inspire the next generation of women in science and engineering.

On Friday, March 16, Amphi Middle students spent the afternoon with mentors during the "Engineering for a Better World" program.

The event was organized by the University of Arizona's Women in Engineering Programming Board and the Society of Women Engineers.

The students and mentors participated in three interactive workshops that demonstrate fields in engineering, including: creating a robotic hand (biomedical), making polymer (chemical) and a bridge competition (civil).
