Missing Tucson toddler taken by mother found safe in Mexico

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Tucson Police Department is reporting that 1-year-old Jeannette Grado has been found in Mexico. 

Members from the Arizona Department of Child Safety responded and took custody of 1-year-old, she was unharmed and in good condition.

According to a TPD release, on Tuesday, March 27 with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal's and Mexican authorities the toddler and her mother 38-year-old Jeannette McCann Lopez were found in Mexico.  

Authorities responded to the DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales, AZ where McCann Lopez was detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers on the outstanding felony warrant. 

TPD detectives responded and took McCann Lopez into custody. Deputies from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office also assisted and transported and booked McCann Lopez into the Santa Cruz County Jail. 

Arizona Department of Child Safety has legal custody of 1-year-old Jeannette, who was taken by her mother McCann Lopez during a supervised visit several months ago.
