UPDATE: Bomb squad gives all clear to suspicious item near Camp Lowell and Swan

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Both drivers and pedestrians were urged to avoid the area around Camp Lowell and Swan Road in midtown Tucson, according to a release from Tucson Police Department.

The notification sent out just after 7:15 p.m. stated that the intersection would be shut down for police activity. No estimated time for reopening the intersection was provided.

An update from the department at 7:40 p.m. stated the situation focuses on a suspicious item found in a bag near the intersection. The bomb squad has been called to the scene, according to a tweet from TPD.

As of 8:30 p.m., the area was given an all clear from police at the scene.
