UPDATE: Redington Road back open after helicopter makes emergency landing

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Redington Road is back open, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department, after an emergency landing of a helicopter forced the road to close. 

Travel is a single lane by the helicopter, so drivers should use caution in the area. 

A medical helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing in Redington Pass Monday, April 2.

A patient was on board, but he or she was not injured and was later picked up by another helicopter and brought to Tucson.

A Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman said the helicopter had a mechanical issues but it landed fine and did not crash.

The pilot was also not injured.
