Someone recently attacked a Sun Tran bus driver in Tucson.  Fortunately, he wasn't badly hurt, but we're finding out this kind of thing is happening way too often.

According to Sun Tran, 34 drivers have been assaulted since January 2017, but the driver we talked to thinks that's a lot more.

Sun Tran has been working to protect its drivers with Plexiglas barriers, but less than a third of the bus fleet has them.  And not enough money is set aside for all of them.

This should be a non-negotiable part of our bus system – as vital to each bus as the wheels.

Sun Tran needs to find the money to protect all its drivers.  We don't want to keep reporting on assaults like this.
