TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Arizona Game and Fish Department is reporting that tests performed on the fox that bit a boy on March 28, show it had rabies.

According to AZGFD the fox bit the boy while he was on an outing with his parents at the Chiricahua National Monument at the end of March.  The fox was found within 24 hours and euthanized.

The fox acted aggressively before it bit the boy, according to AZGFD officials.

AZGFD are reminding the public that they should avoid contact with wildlife that is acting erratically or is dead, and that they should report unusual animal behavior as soon as possible to (623) 236-7201.
