Tucson police locate, arrest suspect in April 6 fatal stabbing

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Tucson Police Department have in their custody a suspect in the April 6 fatal stabbing of 33-year-old Gary Lavier.

According to a TPD news release, detectives learned that a man, identified as 40-year-old Daniel Wolfley, had been talking with others about his involvment in the stabbing and a nearby fire.  

Wolfley was located near downtown Tucson on Tuesday, April 10 and was taken into custody without incident, according to TPD. He was booked into the Pima County Jail on the following charges: second degree murder, arson of an occupied structure, and tampering with physical evidence.  

Detectives discovered that a fire had been set the morning of the homicide in a wash near the incident. The fire, according to the release, not only burned evidence but a tent and a camp area where people were living in the wash.
