TUCSON, AZ -

Nick Quintana had three doubles and four RBI and Cody Deason tossed six strong innings to lift the Arizona Baseball to a 14-1 win over USC on Friday night in the opener of a three-game series at Dedeaux Field. 

Quintana is now 22-for-41 over his last 10 games with 24 RBI. 

Deason (4-2) went six innings, allowing six hits, one run and striking out eight to lower his season ERA to 1.94.

Arizona (22-11, 5-5) and USC (16-13, 5-8) will continue their three-game series Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. Right-hander Michael Flynn will start for the Wildcats. 

The game will be televised by Pac-12 Arizona and Pac-12 Los Angeles.

Fourth-ranked UCLA scored six runs over the final three innings Friday night at Hillenbrand Stadium, including three runs in the top of the seventh to break a 4-4 tie and defeat No. 12 Arizona Softball, 7-6 in Game 1 of the three-game series.

The Wildcats (27-10, 6-7) suffered their fourth straight loss.

Rachel Garcia homered and drove in three runs for the Bruins (35-3, 10-3)

Alyssa Palomino went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on the night. It was her 12th homer of the season, tying Jessie Harperfor the Pac-12 lead. 

Taylor McQuillin (18-7) took the loss for Arizona (27-10, 6-7). She allowed seven runs on nine hits. She fanned eight and walked six in the contest.

The two teams meet again on Saturday at 7 p.m. MST. The game will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks.
