USC evened up a three-game series with Arizona Baseball on Saturday, topping the Wildcats 12-2 at Dedeaux Field.
The Trojans (17-13, 6-8) got to starter Michael Flynn (5-2) for five runs on five hits in two innings of work.
Right-hander Solomon Bates (3-1) earned the win for USC, pitching seven innings of two-run ball.
Alfonso Rivas was the lone Wildcat to register a multiple-hit game, finishing 2 for 4 with two RBI, upping his season average to .351.
Arizona (21-12, 5-6) and USC will play the rubber match in the series is set for Sunday at 2 p.m.
Fourth-ranked UCLA clinched the series Saturday night with a 7-3 victory over #12 Arizona Softball at Hillenbrand Stadium, in front of a season-high 2,629 fans.
The Wildcats have lost five in a row.
Alyssa Denham (5-3) took the loss for Arizona (27-11, 6-8). She allowed four runs, two earned, on seven hits with one strikeout in six innings.
Rachel Garcia (12-1) earned the victory in relief for UCLA (36-3, 11-3). She pitched the final four scoreless innings, allowing just one hit with six strikeouts.
Paige Halstead hit a two-run home run for the Bruins.
