TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

With AP tests right around the corner and teachers wrapping up curriculum for the end of the year, students are worried about how a walkout planned for Thursday, April 26, will affect their academics.

AP tests ares scheduled to start in two weeks. For many students, those test scores are important when it comes to getting college scholarships and college acceptances. Without their teachers, who have instructed them on their various AP class topics, students are voicing their concern about the affect of the walkout on their test scores.

"We need to get ready for our AP tests and we can't afford to miss another learning experience with them," Colette Padilla, a junior at Amphitheater High School, said.

Colette expressed support for her teachers standing up for themselves as they fight for higher pay and better school funding. Even so, she worries how their decision will affect her academic future.

"For a teacher not to be there and not to have those subs it's like it's another day wasted basically," she said.

Teachers are continuing their "walk-ins" this week until Thursday's planned walk-out.
