TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson is on to Round 2 of the AHL’s Calder Cup Playoffs after a 3-0 win over San Jose Friday night at Tucson Arena.

The Roadrunners got a pair of goals from Mario Kempe to close out their best-of-five division semifinal series with the Barracuda 3-1.

This is the first series win in the Calder Cup Playoffs by a Coyotes affiliate since 2003, and first in a non-play-in qualifier since 1997.

Goaltender Adin Hill was perfect in net for the second straight night for Tucson, stopping all 25 shots faced to record back-to-back shutouts.

Captain Andrew Campbell had two assists for the Roadrunners, his second straight multi-point performance.
