TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The 29-year-old man accused of trying to kidnap a young girl from her Tucson home on Sunday has been captured.

According to the Tucson Police Department, Alonso Rodriquez. was arrested Monday morning on charges of attempted kidnapping and second-degree burglary.

The TPD said Rodriquez tried to take the child from a home in the 2400 block of North Dodge Boulevard on Sunday.

The TPD said a 9-year-old girl was sleeping when an Rodriquez opened her bedroom window. Rodriquez tried to coerce the girl out of the room to go with him, police said.

A family member heard the commotion and came into the room and began screaming, alerting other family members, TPD said. Rodriquez fled the area on foot.
