Suspect in fatal shooting of Nogales officer makes first court appearance

NOGALES, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

David Murillo, the suspect in the shooting of Nogales police officer Jesus Cordova on Friday, has already made his initial appearance.

Held without bond, Murillo was booked on charges of first degree murder, six counts of armed robbery, six counts of aggravated assault, unlawful flight from law enforcement, five counts of theft of means of transportation, and two counts of kidnapping. 

His next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday morning at the Santa Cruz County Detention Center, according to Sheriff Tony Estrada.

Over the weekend, thousands attended the vigil for officer Cordova.
